Working with JDRF

Delta Epsilon Psi National South Asian Fraternity was founded on October 1, 1998 based on a vision of service to the community. It is one of the fastest growing fraternities in the southeast region, and it has now widely spread across the nation. Since establishment, we have strived to help the community by performing over 10,000 hours of service annually throughout the nation. This prestigious service fraternity takes pride in contributing to our National Philanthropy of Juvenile Diabetes, which fulfills the fraternity’s purpose to instill commitment in our society through various service driven endeavors.

Our fraternity offers its efforts by hosting an annual Sugar Free Bowl, a flag football tournament, in which all donations and money raised funds the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in the search for a cure. This foundation, also called JDRF, is the leading charitable funder and advocate of juvenile (type 1) diabetes research worldwide. JDRF's mission is constant: to find a cure for diabetes and its complications through the support of research. With all of the money given to JDRF, more than 80 percent of JDRF’s expenditures directly support research and research-related education.

JDRF is beneficial to a large number of individuals, and this population is increasing day by day. A child is diagnosed with juvenile diabetes every hour. This life altering and threatening disease can result in severe complications such as blindness, amputation, heart disease, stroke, and even kidney failure. More and more people are affected by this disease every day and the support of your company could make a difference in the life of millions of people who suffer from this life altering disease.

With this being said, our organization has taken several months in order to prepare for such a big event and to ensure success. We have established committees amongst our Brothers and created schedules, work shifts, gathered donated equipment and food, and found speakers associated with JDRF to accomplish the job in a timely manner and to achieve excellence in conclusion to our First Annual Sugar Free Bowl.
