ORLANDO, FL, August 14th, 2011- Delta Epsilon Psi National Fraternity, Inc. is a service based organization with over 31 chapters and over 3000 brothers and alumni nationwide. Throughout the years the gentlemen of Delta Epsilon Psi have served their respective communities across the nation with a special dedication and committed to its philanthropy, type 1 diabetes research in honor of their brother Vishal Bhagat, for which the Sugar Free campaign began over 10 years ago. On February 14, 2011, Delta Epsilon Psi was announced as a recognized official philanthropic partner of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation whose purpose is to improve the lives of those with type 1 diabetes and to find a cure.

On August 3rd 2012 at the Delta Epsilon Psi 9th National Convention, Pavan Davé, the National Director of Philanthropy announced that the organization had raised $41,500.46 for type 1 diabetes through various events around the nation. These funds in addition to the over 17,000 hours of community service done the previous year were both historic numbers for the organization which previously raised $32,000 in 2010-2011 and served their communities over 14,000 hours. It was with this news that National Council presented a check that was accepted by Carl D. Marks, the Regional Director for the Florida Region on behalf of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

JDRF has built a nationwide network of advocates who are dedicated to finding a cure for type 1diabetes. With the support of DEPsi and various other organizations, JDRF has provided more than $1.6 billion in direct funds to diabetes research. More than 80 percent of JDRF's expenditures directly support research and research-related education.
